During the summer, in partnership with the DC Department of Employment Services, youth from low income families participated in the Good Ground Good Life Summer Youth Program. The youth, ages 14 to 21, gained valuable skills and training experience needed to succeed in the labor market, classroom, and society. Good Ground Good Life, Inc. for the past five years have positively affected the lives of more than 225 underserved, under-privileged, at-risk and inner city youth. The professional adult volunteers who teach programs to meet the urgent needs of the youth have returned each year to not only share their talents, but also be positive role models for the youth. Many of the participants in our programs have gone on to pursue higher education and/or found employment through our sponsors. The parents and teachers of the participants have also expressed improvement in their behavior and performance at school, as well as home. In the nation's capital, we continue to raise the alarm about the abysmal conditions within the Washington, DC Metropolitan area and throughout America.
